From Maidstone. Head North along the A229 Mill St. Continue to follow the A229 and turn left at the A20 Broadway. Continue to follow the A20 and take a slight left at the A229 Fairmeadow. Continue to follow the A229 and go through three roundabouts. Take a slight right at the A229 City Way. Continue onto the A230 Horsted Way. Continue onto the A2 Railway St. Continue onto the A231 Globe Lane. Globe Lane turns slightly left and becomes the A231 Dock Rd. Follow the brown tourist signs to the Historic Dockyard.

From A2 (East). Head West along the A2 London Rd. Once you have passed Gillingham Golf Club on your right, continue through one more roundabout. Turn left at the A2 The Brook and continue to follow the A2. Continue onto the A231 Globe Lane. Globe Lane turns slightly left and becomes the A231 Dock Rd. Follow the brown tourist signs to the Historic Dockyard.

From M2 J1/A2 (West). Head East on the A2 Watling St. Continue to follow the A2 and go through one roundabout. Turn left at the A2 High St. Turn left at the A2 Globe Lane. Globe Lane turns slightly left and becomes the A231 Dock Rd. Follow the brown tourist signs to the Historic Dockyard.

The quickest and easiest route to The Historic Dockyard by road is via the A2/M2 junction 1 then follow the brown tourist signs and use the A289 (Wainscott Bypass) and the Medway Tunnel straight to our front door!

Chatham is only an hour’s drive from London, Dover and the Channel Tunnel and a short distance from the M25. The site is sign posted from junctions 1, 3 and 4 of the M2. Follow the brown tourist signs with the white anchor on a brown background.

From Junctions 1 and 4 of the M2:

Follow the A289 to the Medway Tunnel. At the tunnel follow signs to Chatham and the brown tourist signs to the Visitor Entrance and car park at the north end of the site. .

From Junction 3 of the M2 and Junction 6 of the M20:

Follow the signs to Chatham, A229, then A230 and A231 and the brown tourist signs to the Visitor Entrance and car park at the north end of the site.
