On 13 points and still allowed to drive!

Recently acted for Mr SM who was in danger of losing his licence under totting up rules. We successfully prepared an argument which led to him being able to continue to drive despite having 13 points. This meant he could continue to work and add his taxes to the community. Totting up refers to a person accumulating 12 or more points on their driving licence. When you reach this point the law states you will be disqualified for a minimum of 6 months. The only way you can keep your licence is to put forward “exceptional reasons”. This involves building up a winning argument and being professionally taken through your situation while you give evidence on oath in the magistrates court. For more information go to the exceptional hardship tab on the left hand side under the main driving tab at the top of the page.
